GENERATION TEC

Rockin America

Documentary 1:50 min running time

Written and Directed by Dionne Lennon

14 rock bands from around the world Tour the United States in name of world peace. The tour (conceived by a myspace music promoter) quickly fell apart. The bands were promised luxury accommodations, tour busses with drivers, free meals, and celebrity guest performers at most shows.

Upon arriving in America, the bands learn the truth. This Tour is a sham. The bands are at the mercy of the inept tour manager who quits and cancels the tour leaving the young musicians stranded. They are in a foreign country with no maps, money or place to sleep. They have no way home.

The bands (most under the age of 21) decide to take matters into their own hands. They work together and take over the tour. Using their laptops and cell phones, the young musicians contact venue owners, hotels, and google driving directions. They set off on their own to Rock America.

Generation Tec features live musical performances by Dionne Lennon. Miss Lennon gained notoriety on MySpace after her first two songs (Teenage years, & Last Day) received the Runner Up Award from VH1’s song of the year contest, and also placed as a Top 10 Finalist in American Idol's internet based songwriting contest. The awards lead to her being invited on the tour for world peace along with musical groups.
